Midterms... DONE! :D And I still have decent grades in all my classes. Life is good :) Now we are prepping for finals in three and a half weeks... summer term goes so fast!
Summer Nights in Provo are awesome :) I just thought I should share that.. I feel like there is always something happening somewhere! My only complaint is that the entire town closes down at 10pm... Like everything. I am pretty sure there is one 24 hour grocery store, and that is all you get after 10pm. But that's okay because we are broke college kids, so we are good at coming up with weird things to do! Last night Emily, Kristen, Mitchell, Ian and I had a huge dance party in the living room. I am so glad I brought those Bose speakers ;) hahaha We did the marcarena and the hoky poky and I am pretty sure we danced to Love Shack three or four times before we realized what the lyrics actually say...
On nights when we aren't dancing, we play volleyball! Who knew that Wyview has a sand volleyball court?! Because I sure didn't! But it is awesome!! :) We also make 2am muffins, have water fights, and occasionally do homework ;) we go star gazing, eat ice cream (I think we do that too much), watch movies, and break into other apartment's swimming pools!
Whoever said BYU isn't a party school was dead wrong!
Life has been so good, I can't believe how awesome this summer has been! :) I miss all my friends in Chico, but I have been Facebook stalking all of you religiously which helps me feel like I am still there with you guys ;)
When I was studying my scriptures last night I came across this quote from Orson F. Whitney, he said, "The spirit of the gospel is optimistic; it trusts in God and looks on the bright side of things." I don't even remember when I put that in there, I am glad I did. It is so true! I know that no matter what situation we are in, turning to the Christ and studying His gospel will make it better and help us see the bright side of any situation. This is so true when we are going through hard times. He is willing and able share our sorrows and carry our burdens, and I am so grateful for that. But it is important to remember that He will share in all our joy as well! "I will never leave thee"(Hebrews 13:5) means just that! In the good times and the bad, he isn't going anywhere. It is important that we remember to keep him near in the good times, because He can make our joy even more joyful and our happiness even happier! :)
Those are my random thoughts today! :)

I think it's the spark plugs....
Yesterday (Saturday) was one of the best days I have had... ever. And that is zero sarcasm! Everything did not go according to my plan, but it certainly followed someone else's, and I am so grateful for that.
On Friday night we had a big sleepover, including a midnight wal-mart run, a movie, and teaching Mitchell how to paint finger nails! Then we slept in on Saturday, and that's when the fun began! We drove up the Provo canyon and went tubing :D Ian, Mitchell, Abby, Emily, Dallin, Kristen, Jillian, and I floated for almost three hours, it was so much fun! I am so lucky to have such great friends already :) So when we were done floating all of us loaded back up into my car and decided to check out Squaw Peak! The view was awesome, and we took some cool pictures. We stayed there for about a half an hour... then it happened. I tried to start the car. Then I tried again. and again. Thirty miles up a mountain, with eight friends in bathing suits and the car won't start. So I let the boys pop the hood and poke around at stuff, because they are men and I didn't want to damage their man pride ;) eventually they came to the conclusion that it must be the spark plugs. That's when we prayed. Then the car started and we all drove down the mountain singing girls camp songs! Then end. ha, kidding! We really did say a prayer, but the car was dead as a door nail. That's when we met the Coons! They came up the mountain in a suburban. We all fit in their car! Miracle numero uno. So we left poor Freddy (the jeep) on top of the mountain and made it back to Wyview with the Coons. They were some of the nicest people in the world! They told us all about how they met at BYU and 4 of their 6 kids went here. Their son just got married in the Mt. Timpanogos temple the morning before. Brother Coon helped me call a tow truck and gave me his number in case I need anymore help. It is amazing how the Lord works through other people just when we need them.
So once we got a tow truck, I had to get back up the mountain to meet the guy. Problemo, I have no car. That's when my amazing roommates Emily and Kristen came the rescue! They gave me a ride back up the mountain. I brought Austin with me too, just in case the guy was a creeper. I told Austin I brought him because my mom asked me too, but really it was my idea because I am a little chicken. I am like 98% sure Austin could beat up any creepy tow truck driver if he had to. So the four of us went back up to rescue Freddy. That's were we met Shane, the tow truck driver. He wasn't creepy at all! He had an awesome handle bar mustache and a great sense of humor. Shane towed Freddy down to Pep boys, which happened to be right across the street from Papa Johns! Yay us, because we were starving!! Emily, Kristen, Austin, and I ate a pizza while we waited for Freddy, who turned out to be perfectly fine! He got all checked out in under 2 hours and we made it home safe and sound! :) Thank you Pep Boys! I am so grateful for the Lord's little reminder of how much I rely on others. None of us can make it through this life alone. I really struggle with asking for help sometimes, but that's only my pride. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to swallow it and ask for help.
Later that night Austin and I decided to check out the progress on the Payson temple! So we drove out there and guess what?! that temple will be absolutely beautiful, but right now, it is still dirt. They hadn't even started the foundation yet! hahaha So we sat on top of the car and admired the dirt for a while :) Sometimes I worry that I might be the most boring person ever to hang out with... Hopefully I am not, but I wouldn't know! I do like hanging out with myself, but I don't think my vote counts in this situation.
This quote totally sums up my awesome Saturday: "Sometimes the most ordinary thinks could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people." - Nicholas Sparks
I so blessed to have extraordinary people in my life. People, even total strangers, that will drop everything to come help me when I need them. People who are so patient with me. People who are quick to love and slow to judge. I am one lucky girl! I just hope I can be that kind of friend for them.

Rikaela!
Ok Rikaela, I did it! Just for
you! Sorry it took so long... So we are starting week two here at BYU! I
absolutely love it. Summer term is going really fast because they cram a whole
semester into 8 weeks. I have been doing about 3 hours of homework a day for
each class. Music 101 is boring and long, but Survey of World religions is
awesome! Right now we are studying the Bhagavad Gita and Upanisadic Hinduism.
But that's enough about school!!!
My roommates are absolutely awesome!
I love both of them so much already :) Our ward is pretty legit as well. It is
weird to go to church and not have kids running around... Sacrament meeting is
so quiet! haha I miss la rama. But there are mucho RM's in my ward, lucky me!
;)
I got to see Minga's baby,
Zayleigh, last week. Uncle Randy and Aunt Tiffany and Bert were there too! It
was so nice to see all of them again :) I can't wait to meet Lola next
month!
Austin and I started a list of
things we have to do. It is titled, The List. So far there are 24
adventures on the list :) We checked cafe rio and Squaw Peak off the list last
night. Cafe Rio was so GOOD! I think Rileigh would like it a lot. and Squaw
Peak was so pretty. I love being in the mountains :) It was amazing to look out
at all the lights and think that God know each person out there individually.
He knows their name, their struggles, trials, joys, fears, everything. And that
was only like 1 millionth of the world! We also got to park and look at the
stars. Stars keep me humble. While we were up there my mind kept going back to
President Uchtdorf's talk You Matter to Him, especially the part where he says,
"This is a paradox of man: compared to God, man is nothing; yet we are
everything to God. While against the backdrop of infinite creation we may
appear to be nothing, we have a spark of eternal fire burning within our
breast. We have the incomprehensible promise of exaltation—worlds without
end—within our grasp. And it is God’s great desire to help us reach
it."
God is there. He loves us. We are His children, and that makes
each of us something special. The atonement is so incredible. Not only because
we can repent, but because it allows the Savior to know each of us perfectly
and personally. He knows you.
I am so glad I have Austin here!
He has been so patient with me as I figure all this stuff out :) I don't think
I have told him thank you nearly enough for everything he has helped me
with.
I am one lucky girl!
I miss my Chico people, and I love
my Utah people.
I promise I will try to remember
to post here for you as often as I can :)
Love,
Reagan :)
